Some good things have happened since I last wrote this email. The biggest, and most relieving is that I took the MCAT. The MCAT is the entrance exam to get into medical school. It costs over $200 just to take the test. It is a 5 hour, brain-pulverizing ordeal. The questions cover chemistry, physics, biology, anatomy, physiology, reading comprehension, and writing. I started preparing for it a year ago. When this last semester ended I began studying for a couple of hours each day. About a month ago I couldn’t even think about it without my stomach bunching up in knots. But with a blessing from my father, and some prayers of family members I felt my anxieties melt away. I woke up the morning of the test feeling clear-headed, calm, and ready to test. I don’t get my grades for another 2 weeks or so, but I feel good about it. I’m confident that I won’t have to take it again. Having that out of the way is a huge burden off my shoulders.
Another big thing I did was to finish reading the Old Testament cover to cover. I started reading it back in the summer of 2001. It only took me 7 years to finish it! I read it a little here and a little there, sometimes taking breaks while I read for a particular institute class, or prepared for elders’ quorum lessons, etc. I finally did it, and I have gained a greater appreciation for that book. The difference between the Old Testament and the Book of Mormon is that in the BoM you can find the gold nuggets without even trying, they’re just laying out there for you. In the OT you have to dig a little to find them.
Today is our one year anniversary. It’s also our golden anniversary. We’ve had a wonderful time. I think we love each other more now than when we started. I’ve been told that the first year of marriage is the hardest; if that’s the case then we will have a wonderful marriage. My life has improved so much since our marriage. Becky’s the best, I love her like crazy.
Have a great month everyone.

Happy Anniversary Stew & Becky!!!
Can you believe you've been married a year now??!?!
Tamara and I sure couldn't... isn't it great to be perpetual-newly weds?
On Sunday our 1st counselor told us that he'd received complaints from the congregation that we had been kissing on the stand (we sit there because Tamara is the chorister). He told us it was just a joke, but it still made us realize that we should maybe be a little more reserved...
Hehe, we have no problems with that. Becky won't even let me give her a peck on the cheek at church. I guess I can't blame her. I remember what it was like to be painfully single and watch the married couples flont their married-ness in front of you by kissing, backrubbing, making-out, etc.
Congrats on the one year mark and on taking the MCAT. I remember the monster of a test the GREs were. I do not envy you. I'm sure that you did quite well. Let us know how things turn out.
