2009 January: Robertson

Dear Friends,

We started off January with Derik jumping back into a new semester of grad school. Derik is taking 9 credits (6 is full time), teaching a 4 credit class, and working in the writing center on campus. In addition to that, Derik is still busy as the Young men’s president in our branch. Needless to say he is very busy. Somehow, all of his classes have been lumped into only Tuesdays and Thursdays, so those days he leaves fairly early and comes home especially late. Our girls barely see him on those days. Thankfully, that leaves Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for all homework, office hours, and writing center hours among other things. I’m doing my best to help him not become overwhelmed with his work load.

On the 25th, our darling daughters turned two. We had a fun party for them with Morgan’s family in Rochester and we also celebrated the birthday of Morgan’s sister who turned 14 on the same day the girls turned two. So now we have two “terrible two-year-olds.” Emotions are definitely beginning to rule their day-to-day temperaments. They are still absolutely adorable though. Thank you for all the lovely presents and well wishes sent their way. They loved all of their birthday presents and they have really gotten into the spirit of opening their presents.

Our big news of the month (or maybe the year) is… Morgan is pregnant! She is due sometime in September, but we are waiting to have an ultrasound to find out the details for sure. She has some all day “morning sickness” but nothing unmanageable yet. We will let you know when we know more.

I think that is it for us for this month. We love you and miss you all very much.

Love,

Derik, Morgan, Kyla, Daria, and …

Robertson

Congrats! How exciting. Hope the "morning" sickness passes soon.

Good luck with the 2-yr-olds at the same time as being sick... we'll put in some prayers for you Morgan :)
